01 What is gold-plated alloy?
The base is a mixed metal — part silver, part high-quality brass. We use it because it holds fine detail and keeps its shape, which matters on hand-set kundan and polki work.
A durable layer of gold plating is then applied over that base. You get the weight, colour and finish of gold jewellery at a fraction of the cost of solid gold.
02 What is 925 silver?
925 silver is sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. Pure silver on its own is too soft to wear; the small addition of copper gives it the hardness a ring, chain or clasp needs for everyday use.
Our 925 pieces are BIS-hallmarked. Gold plating can be applied over 925 silver too — the piece looks gold, with a solid silver core underneath.
03 Does the gold plating wear off?
Our plating is thick and applied to last. With reasonable care — kept away from perfume, sweat and water, stored in its pouch — it holds its finish for a long time.
Any plating on any piece of jewellery thins with years of wear. Every Rangtarini piece can be re-plated, and we do it for you at a minimal cost. Message us on WhatsApp.
05 What if something breaks? Can it be repaired or resized?
We can re-string, re-polish and resize our own pieces for as long as you own them. Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we'll tell you what it needs and what it costs.

Every Rangtarini piece is hand-set in our karkhana in Udaipur/Jaipur, where master karigars keep alive Rajasthani traditions of kundan, polki and meenakari that go back six generations. We work in Gold Plated and 925 silver pieces — built to be repolished, re-strung, and worn for decades.
